What is required of a woman if she becomes pure from menstruation one rak'ah before sunset? Does she have to make up the Zuhr and 'Asr prayers?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A woman, O Shaykh, became pure from menstruation one rak'ah before Maghrib. Does she have to make up the Zuhr and 'Asr prayers?

The Shaykh : If a woman becomes pure one rak'ah before sunset, she is only required to make up the 'Asr prayer, because that is the prayer whose time she became pure in.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever catches one rak'ah of the 'Asr prayer before the sun sets has caught the 'Asr prayer. من أدرك ركعة من صلاة العصر قبل أن تغرب الشمس فقد أدرك العصر
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 6:219
, and he did not say: "and he must make up Zuhr." So the correct view is that whoever catches one rak'ah of the time of the 'Asr prayer is only required to make up 'Asr, and whoever catches one rak'ah of the time of the 'Isha' prayer is only required to make up 'Isha' and is not required to make up Maghrib.
