The Miswak in the Mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 2432 )
Q3: I have heard people say that it is not permissible to use the miswak inside the mosque . Is this correct?
A3: Using the miswak is a confirmed recommended practice (sunnah) whenever there is a need for it, such as for ablution, prayer, reciting the Qur'an, a change in the smell of the mouth, and the like. It is prescribed to do so
inside the mosque and outside of it, because there is no text prohibiting it inside the mosque while there is a cause for it, due to the generality of the hadith:
Had I not feared burdening my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use Siwak with everyلولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بالسواك مع كل صلاة
Bulugh al-Maram 32
. However, one should not exaggerate in its use to the point of vomiting while in the mosque, for fear that vomit or blood may come out and defile the mosque. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
