The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 7551 )
Q4: A man urinated and did not perform istinja' (cleaning oneself after relieving oneself), then performed wudu' (the ablution for prayer) and prayed . Is his prayer valid? If it is not valid, must he repeat it, even if a long time has passed, or does he not have to repeat it?
A4: If he performed istijmar (cleaning with stones) with three or more clean, purifying stones before the wudu', his prayer is valid. If he did not perform istinja' and did not perform the aforementioned istijmar before the wudu', his prayer is invalid, and he must repeat it in a state of purity, even if a long time has passed. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
