The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 1752 )
Q4: A person caught up in the congregational prayer who is not in a state of ablution and fears that if he performs ablution he will miss the congregational prayer, what should he do?
A4: Ablution is a condition for the validity of the prayer; because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Ma'idah 5:6] the verse, and because it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Sunan Abi Dawud 60Sahih (Al-Albani) narrated by Ahmad and al-Bukhari and Muslim and Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi . It is obligatory for a person to perform ablution for the prayer, and if he misses the prayer in this congregation, he must strive to perform the prayer in another congregation. If
that is facilitated for him, praise be to Allah; otherwise, he prays alone; because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[At-Taghabun 64:16] and His saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih al-Bukhari 7288 , and it is not permissible for him to perform dry ablution to catch the congregation; because the fear of missing it is not among the things that permit transitioning from water purification to earth purification. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.

A4: Ablution is a condition for the validity of the prayer; because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles
Allaah, the Exalted, does not accept the prayer of any of you when you are defiled until you performed ablution.
لا يقبل الله صلاة أحدكم إذا أحدث حتى يتوضأthat is facilitated for him, praise be to Allah; otherwise, he prays alone; because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
So fear Allah as much as you are able
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْAnd if I order you to do something, then do of it as much as you can.
إذا أمرتكم بأمر فأتوا منه ما استطعتم
