Is the prayer of parents against their son answered if the reason for that prayer is the son's attempt at reform and the parents' failure to understand that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: O honorable Shaykh, is the prayer of parents against their son answered if the reason for that prayer is the son's attempt at reform, at reform, and the parents' failure to understand that?

The Shaykh : Yes, the prayer of parents against their child is not free from being either injustice or justice. If it is justice, then the prayer of parents against their child is likely to be answered. If it is injustice, such as if he advises them and they pray against him, then Allah does not accept that, due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.
[Al-An'am 6:21]
. Likewise, if they forbid him from attending lessons in the mosques or from keeping the company of the righteous, and then he persists in attending the lessons in the mosques and keeping the company of the righteous, and they pray against him, then their prayer is not accepted because they are unjust. And Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.
[Al-An'am 6:21]
. On this occasion, I would like to offer advice to some fathers and mothers as well: If they see in their son or daughter an inclination toward following the Sunnah, they place obstacles before him that prevent him from practicing the Sunnah. They may even put him in a difficult position and say, "You are in a difficult position." The mother may say, "By Allah, I will not eat your 'Id al-Adha sacrifice," or the like. All of this is not permissible. It is not permissible for a person to forbid what is right. Who are those who forbid what is right? They are the hypocrites:
They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right
[At-Tawbah 9:67]
. And their saying, "We are afraid of extremism in religion or of obsessive thoughts, or the like," as some women claim—we say: This is knowledge with Allah:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out
[At-Talaq 65:2]
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease.
[At-Talaq 65:4]
. If a person sees his son or daughter inclined toward good and obedience, it is not permissible to prevent them. Also, there are some women who, if the daughter is righteous and fasts on Mondays and Thursdays, or on the white days, the mother prevents her, saying, "You will not fast." She may put her in a difficult position, or she may pray against her. We say: If she prays against her, it is not accepted, because her prayer against her when she fasts what Allah has prescribed is injustice, and Allah Mighty and Majestic does not accept injustice. As for putting her in a difficult position, that also does not prevent the daughter; she fasts. And the mother must expiate an oath, because putting someone in a difficult position is like forbidding them, and regarding forbidding, Allah the Exalted said:
(1) O Prophet, why do you prohibit [yourself from] what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking the approval of your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (2) Allah has already ordained for you [Muslims] the dissolution of your oaths. And Allah is your protector, and He is the Knowing, the Wise.
[At-Tahrim 66:1-2]
. If someone asks: Is it obligatory for the son or daughter to obey their parents in not fasting the prescribed fast, or in not seeking knowledge, or in not calling to Allah? We say: It is not obligatory for you, and disobeying them in this case carries no sin. Yes.
