The Call of the Servants of the Beautiful Names to Fulfill Needs
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third and fifth questions from Fatwa No. ( 3321 ):
Q3: Is it permissible for a Muslim to say in his supplication: “O servants of these beautiful names, respond and rely upon Allah to fulfill my need”?
A3: Calling the servants of the beautiful names to fulfill needs is shirk (associating partners with Allah); because it is calling upon other than Allah, namely absent, imagined servants about whom we have no knowledge of their existence. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Ahqaf 46:5-6] And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Mu'minun 23:117]
And Allah the Exalted said:[Yunus 10:106-107] the verse, and Allah Mighty and Majestic said: [Al-Jinn 72:18] And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Jinn 72:6] , and it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2516Hasan (Darussalam) ... the hadith, among other verses and hadiths indicating that supplication for bringing benefit or repelling harm is for Allah alone, so directing it to other than Allah is shirk (associating partners with Allah); because it is worship.
Allah the Exalted said:
(5) And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection, and they, of their invocation, are unaware. (6) And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship.
And whoever invokes besides Allah another deity for which he has no proof - then his account is only with his Lord. Indeed, the disbelievers will not succeed.
And Allah the Exalted said:
(106) And do not invoke besides Allah that which neither benefits you nor harms you, for if you did, then indeed you would be of the wrongdoers.'" (107) And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him
And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone.
And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden.
When you ask, ask Allah, and when you seek aid, seek Allah's aid.
