Affirming faith for the one who says, "There is no god but Allah," sincerely from his heart

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 5318 ):
Q6: A man died leaving behind five wives or more. Is he a Muslim such that we should pray over him after his death? We know the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly lifeأَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍ فَمَا جَزَاءُ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ إِلا خِزْيٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:85]

Volume 6: Faith is not established for one who says: "There is no god but Allah," unless he says it with a sincere heart, and it is not accepted by Allah unless it is so. However, in this world, one who says it is treated as a Muslim in all cases, even if he is not sincere in it; for we only take into account the outward appearance, and Allah is the One who handles the inner secrets. Whoever says it and does what nullifies it commits disbelief, such as one who considers permissible what is known from the religion by necessity after it has been conveyed to him, like one who considers zina (unlawful sexual intercourse) permissible, or marrying mahram (a relative one may not marry). Among its nullifiers is deliberately abandoning the ritual prayer, provided it has been conveyed to him, he has been ordered to perform it, and he has been advised, according to the correct opinion of the scholars. It also includes hanging up amulets and talismans, other than from the Qur'an, while believing in their effect. However, if he believes they are a cause for healing or protection from jinn (the jinn) and the evil eye, they are forbidden (haram) and do not nullify Islam, but they are among the types of minor shirk (associating partners with Allah); due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever hangs a tamimah, Allah will not complete for him, and whoever hangs a wada'ah, Allah will not grant him peace.من تعلق تميمة فلا أتم الله له، ومن تعلق ودعة فلا ودع الله له
. As for hanging amulets from the Qur'an, there is scholarly disagreement regarding their permissibility, and the stronger position is that it is forbidden; due to the generality of the evidence, and for blocking the means to harm.
leading to the hanging up of other things. Among the nullifiers of Islam is calling for aid from the dead, idols, or similar inanimate objects, or from absent jinn or humans, or from present living people, in matters that only Allah is capable of. And the like of that. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
