Photography of living beings, whether human or animal, and keeping them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 2151 ):
Q3: What is the ruling on the photos I take of myself and my friends?
A3: Photography of living beings, whether human or animal, and keeping these photos is forbidden, indeed it is one of the major sins; because of the authentic hadiths reported on this matter that include severe warnings and threaten the photographers and those who possess these photos with painful punishment; and because it involves imitating the creation of Allah; and because it may be a means to shirk (associating partners with Allah), such as pictures of great men and righteous people, or a door to fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), such as pictures of beautiful women, actors, actresses, and those who are naked while clothed. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
