Fatwa No. ( 11018 ):
All praise is due to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. After that: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed what was sent to His Eminence the President General from the Director of the Madinah Airport Customs, via the Madinah al-Munawwarah Dawah and Guidance Center, and referred to the Committee by the Department of Scientific Research and Ifta under number 237 on 21/1/1408. He asked a question, the text of which is: (Based on the letter from the Director General of the Jeddah Islamic Port Customs, number 7913/11191/Sh.J, dated 2/12/1407, regarding water coolers that were found in the Noble Prophetic Sanctuary with the word "goot" written on them, which means the word of the Most High (Allah) in German, and his Excellency requested that you be informed to express your opinion on this matter and send it to us so that we may take what is obligatory, may Allah guide you to what serves the religion and the country)
After the Committee studied the inquiry, it answered: There is no harm in that; because writing the Exalted Name on the refrigerator is not a place of desecration, and perhaps it is indicated by it that water is placed in it in the path of Allah the Exalted. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
