Fatwa No. ( 8844 ):
Q: A woman is anxious because she has not become pregnant, and she sometimes resorts to crying, excessive thinking, and despair of this life. What is the ruling, and what is the advice for her?
A: It is not befitting for this woman to be anxious and cry because she has not become pregnant; for the creation of the natural capacity in the man and the woman to bear children, whether males only, females only, or a combination of males and females, and the fact that a man and woman do not bear children, all of this is by the decree of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He). He the Exalted said:[Ash-Shuraa 42:49-50], so He (Exalted and Majestic is He) is All-Knowing of who deserves each of these categories, and All-Powerful over what He wills of the variation of people in that. The questioner has a role model in Yahya ibn Zakariyya and 'Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon them both), for neither of them had a child born to him. So she should be content and ask Allah for her need, for He has the perfect wisdom and the overwhelming power. There is no harm in her presenting herself to some specialized female doctors, or to a specialized male doctor if no specialized female doctor is available, in case he can treat some of the conditions that prevent childbirth and cause the lack of pregnancy,
and likewise her husband should present himself to a specialized doctor; for it may be that the obstacle is in himself. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

لِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ يَهَبُ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ إِنَاثًا وَيَهَبُ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ الذُّكُورَ (49) أَوْ يُزَوِّجُهُمْ ذُكْرَانًا وَإِنَاثًا وَيَجْعَلُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ عَقِيمًا إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌand likewise her husband should present himself to a specialized doctor; for it may be that the obstacle is in himself.
