What is the ruling on visiting relatives who love the disbelievers?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6541 ):

Q1: Is it permissible to visit relatives who love the disbelievers?
A1: If the one who visits them advises them and guides them to abandon their love for the disbelievers, and explains to them the meaning of loyalty to the believers and disavowal of the disbelievers, so that they know what is obligatory for them in this matter and what is forbidden, and it is hoped that they will hold fast to their religion and abandon the evil they are upon, then it is permissible for him to visit them. In fact, it may become obligatory for him for the sake of enjoining good and forbidding evil. This is more emphatic in the case of relatives, because it is maintaining family ties and conveying the Shari'ah. And if he does not do this in his visit to them, then it is not permissible for him to visit them. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
