Slaughter at the Grave

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 5921 ):
Q2: Some of the deceased's relatives bring what they call al-jadaf (sacrifice) for the deceased to the cemetery to slaughter and distribute to those present at the grave, and they slaughter at a distance of 100 meters from the cemetery. This jadaf may be from sheep, camels, or cattle. We ask for your guidance, may Allah reward you.
Part 2: It is forbidden to slaughter at the grave, which is called al-jadaf; because it involves the intention of drawing near and worship,
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who slaughters for other than Allahوقد لعن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من ذبح لغير الله
, narrated by Muslim . As for the practice of the deceased's relatives preparing food for the attendees, this is not part of
the Sunnah; rather, the Sunnah is to prepare food for them; based on what is established regarding the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to prepare food for the family of Ja'far when the news of his death arrived after he was killed (may Allah be pleased with him). And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
