The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 7350 ):
Q5: In some of our villages, there are scholars who beat drums and drums and build mosques on graves, and they slaughter sheep, cattle, camels, and other animals for them. They also take money from people monthly and yearly. Do they fall under the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Kahf 18:104] ?
A5: Yes, they fall under the general scope of the verse because of their slaughtering for other than Allah; for that is shirk (associating partners with Allah) with Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). As for beating the drums and drums by the ones you mentioned, it is a sin and an evil act. May Allah guide them and bestow upon them the grace of repentance to Him (Glorified and Exalted is He)
from shirk and all other sins. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
