Is beating drums and suspending work for the Mawlid part of the religion?

The second question of Fatwa No. ( 6759 ):
Q2: People here celebrate the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) Mawlid, the students beat drums, and the elders gather in the mosques to recite the Qur’an and the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) biography. Is this part of the religion? Some governments suspend work on this day and pay the workers. Is this part of the religion or not? Please inform us, because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged us to follow the Sunnah and warned us against religious innovation. Some Muslims do not celebrate and do not go to the mosques out of respect for this day. Are they among the people of the Sunnah, or do they deny the honor of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)? What is the ruling?
A2: This is not part of the religion; rather, it is a religious innovation. Those who do this should be advised, and they should be guided to enliven the mosques with prayer, studying knowledge, reciting the Qur’an, and the like of what the Shari’ah prescribes for enlivening mosques, without singling out the day of the Mawlid for any of these. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
