The third question of Fatwa number ( 9886 ):
Q3: Is it said: that Allah created the heavens and the earth for the sake of creating the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and what is the meaning of (Were it not for you, were it not for you, I would not have created the celestial bodies)? Is this a hadith at all? Is it authentic or not? Clarify its reality for us?
A3: The heavens and the earth were not created for his sake (peace and blessings be upon him), but rather they were created for what Allah, the Exalted, mentioned in His saying, the Mighty and Majestic:
It is Allah who has created seven heavens and of the earth, the like of them. [His] command descends among them so you may know that Allah is over all things competent and that Allah has encompassed all things in knowledge.
[At-Talaq 65:12]
As for the hadith mentioned, it is fabricated against the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and has no basis in authenticity. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
