Ruling on performing the Friday prayer in a mosque that contains graves

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 10913 ):
Q: In our town, there is a congregational mosque where we perform the Friday prayer, but there are graves in it or in front of it. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that, and as you know, there is a hadith that warns against and forbids it. Given this situation, what should I do? Should I leave the Friday prayer because of these graves, or should I pray in front of these graves? And with this, there is no other congregational mosque in our town besides that one.
A: It is not permissible for you to perform the Friday prayer in a mosque that contains graves. Rather, you must strive to obtain a mosque where the Friday prayer is established so that you can pray in it. You must also strive to move the graves to the public cemetery.
If that is not possible, you must seek the help of a benefactor to purchase land to be a mosque, and a mosque should be built on it where the Friday prayer is established. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
