The ruling on praying behind one who writes amulets from the Qur'an and prescribed supplications

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 2853 ):
Q3: A man writes amulets and he is the imam of the mosque. Is it permissible to pray behind him? Explanation: This man writes these amulets not for sorcery, but for minor purposes, including: headaches, and for a child when he is weaned
from his mother for breastfeeding, and there are other issues like this. I hope you will clarify this issue for me, as there are scholars who say he is one who associates partners with Allah and that it is not permissible to pray behind him?

A3: It is permissible to pray behind one who writes amulets from the Qur'an and prescribed supplications, but he should not write them; because it is not permissible to hang them. As for if the amulets contain matters of shirk (associating partners with Allah), then one does not pray behind the one who writes them, and it is obligatory to make it clear to him that this is shirk, and the one who must make it clear is the one who knows it. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
