The ruling on praying behind one who permits hanging amulets from the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner asks in this question: Is it permissible to pray behind one who believes in amulets that are written from the Qur'an and hung? Is it permissible to pray behind such people?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The prayer behind them is valid; because it is a matter of scholarly disagreement, some scholars permit amulets from the Qur'an.
The correct view is that they are not permissible; because they are a means to hanging other amulets; and because the hadiths are general in prohibiting amulets, such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever hangs up an amulet, Allah will not complete [his affair] for himمن تعلق تميمة فلا أتم الله له
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:557
This is general, so one should abandon all amulets, whether from the Qur'an or other than the Qur'an. One should not hang an amulet on his child, nor on his daughter, nor on his animal, whether from the Qur'an or other than the Qur'an. Rather, he should rely upon Allah, ask Him for well-being and healing, and abandon hanging amulets, whether they are of iron or of rings, or of Qur'anic verses, or of hadiths, or other than that. The hadiths are general. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) says:
Whoever hangs an amulet, Allah will not complete [his affair] for him; whoever hangs an amulet has committed shirkمن تعلق تميمة فلا أتم الله له، من تعلق تميمة فقد أشرك
But the prayer behind them is valid; because the matter is one of scholarly disagreement among the scholars. And what we advise the imam to do is to leave this matter. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
