The pregnant woman if a trustworthy doctor informs her that fasting may affect the fetus, but this effect is not significant as it will only reduce the child's weight

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A woman says: O honorable Shaykh, if a pregnant woman is informed by a trustworthy doctor that fasting may affect the fetus. But this effect is not significant, not significant, as it will only reduce the child's weight. But it will quickly regain its weight after birth, by the permission of Allah. So is it obligatory for her to fast, or is it better for her to break her fast for the right of the fetus?

The Shaykh : If it does not harm the fetus and she does not experience hardship, let her fast. The lightness of its weight may be for its benefit, because if its weight is light, its exit is facilitated. And after it is born, it will grow and its weight will increase. But if they say that it harms it, such that it does not receive from the blood the nourishment that sustains its bones and nerves and the like, then she does not fast. Or if it is difficult for her, because women differ in pregnancy. Also, pregnancy differs in its beginning and its end. So whenever she finds hardship or fear for the fetus, she does not fast. Yes.
