Q3: Who are Gog and Magog ? On which continent might they be found? And are they on the surface of the earth?
A3: Gog and Magog are from the descendants of Adam (peace be upon him), from the offspring of Yafith ibn Nuh (peace be upon him), and they resided in the Asian continent, north of China
from it, and they are on the surface of the earth like the rest of the descendants of Adam, and they are people of great violence and severe might, and they have committed corruption in the earth. Allah the Exalted said in describing the journey of Dhul-Qarnayn to the Far East and the reforms he carried out in this journey, His saying:
Until, when he reached the place where the sun rises, he found it rising upon a people over whom We had not made any covering. (90) Thus, and We had encompassed with knowledge what was with him. (91) Then he followed a course (92) until, when he reached between the two barriers, he found there, before them, a people who hardly understood a word. (93) They said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, indeed Gog and Magog are causing corruption in the land. So shall we make for you an expenditure that you make for us between us and them a barrier?" (94) He said, "What my Lord has enabled me with is better, so assist me with strength, and I will make between you and them a barrier. (95) Bring me bars of iron." Until, when he had leveled it between the two sides, he said, "Blow [on the bellows]." Until, when he had made it like fire, he said, "Bring me, I will pour upon it molten copper." (96) So they were unable to overcome it, and they were unable to pierce it. (97) He said, "This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the promise of my Lord comes, He will make it crumble, and the promise of my Lord is truth." (98) And We will leave some of them on that Day surging into one another, and the Trumpet will be blown, and We will gather them together.
حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ مَطْلِعَ الشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَطْلُعُ عَلَى قَوْمٍ لَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِهَا سِتْرًا (90) كَذَلِكَ وَقَدْ أَحَطْنَا بِمَا لَدَيْهِ خُبْرًا (91) ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَ سَبَبًا (92) حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ بَيْنَ السَّدَّيْنِ وَجَدَ مِنْ دُونِهِمَا قَوْمًا لاَ يَكَادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ قَوْلا (93) قَالُوا يَا ذَا الْقَرْنَيْنِ إِنَّ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ مُفْسِدُونَ فِي الأَرْضِ فَهَلْ نَجْعَلُ لَكَ خَرْجًا عَلَى أَنْ تَجْعَلَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمْ سَدًّا (94) قَالَ مَا مَكَّنِّي فِيهِ رَبِّي خَيْرٌ فَأَعِينُونِي بِقُوَّةٍ أَجْعَلْ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُمْ رَدْمًا (95) آتُونِي زُبَرَ الْحَدِيدِ حَتَّى إِذَا سَاوَى بَيْنَ الصَّدَفَيْنِ قَالَ انْفُخُوا حَتَّى إِذَا جَعَلَهُ نَارًا قَالَ آتُونِي أُفْرِغْ عَلَيْهِ قِطْرًا (96) فَمَا اسْطَاعُوا أَنْ يَظْهَرُوهُ وَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا لَهُ نَقْبًا (97) قَالَ هَذَا رَحْمَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّي فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ رَبِّي جَعَلَهُ دَكَّاءَ وَكَانَ وَعْدُ رَبِّي حَقًّا (98) وَتَرَكْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَمُوجُ فِي بَعْضٍ وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَجَمَعْنَاهُمْ جَمْعًا
