Q2: I hope you will kindly explain the signs and portents of the Hour and how to protect oneself and guard against them, and what one should do if such trials befall them? May Allah reward you with the best reward.
A2: The signs of the Hour are numerous. Among them is what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) answered Jibril (peace be upon him) with when he said to him:Sahih al-Bukhari 50 . Among them is the emergence of the Dajjal , the descent of 'Isa ibn Maryam (peace and blessings be upon him) from the sky, the rising of the sun from the west, and the emergence of the beast of the earth. Among them is the abundance of wealth until a man is given a great deal of wealth yet remains dissatisfied. Among them is the multiplication of trials until there is no house among the houses of the Arabs that they do not enter. You should read the book [Al-Nihayah] by Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him), for it contains an explanation of many of them, along with sermons, lessons, and an explanation of what protects a person from trials. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
