Claiming knowledge of the unseen through sand writing or otherwise is a type of fortune-telling

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 6899 ):
Q3: Is it permissible to follow a scholar who claims knowledge of the unseen through sand writing? Or is it not permissible? And is it also permissible to eat what that scholar has slaughtered or to shake his hand?
A3: One who claims knowledge of the unseen through sand writing, opening the book, looking at the stars, summoning the jinn, or the like, is a fortune-teller. It is authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
or who goes to a fortuneteller and believes what he says, he has disbelieved in that which was revealed to Muhammad.من أتى كاهنًا فصدقه بما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد
Sunan Ibn Majah 639Hasan (Darussalam)
(peace and blessings be upon him). Accordingly, it is not permissible to eat from his slaughter, nor to visit him, nor to sit with him, nor to shake his hand. However, you must guide him, advise him, and inform him that claiming knowledge of the unseen is disbelief that takes him out of the religion of Islam, perhaps Allah will accept his repentance. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
