Visiting fortune-tellers and believing them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Questions 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, from Fatwa No. ( 8071 ):
Q2: We have a woman who performs all the acts of worship and does voluntary ones; she prays at the end of the night, prays the Duha prayer, and fasts three days of every month. However, she visits this woman who claims to be an Arab doctor treating her patients from psychological illnesses. Is it permissible for her to visit this woman, and what do you advise her? Q3: If this woman who performs the acts of worship dies while in this state, what will be the effect of visiting this forbidden person on her deeds? Q4: The woman known as "the absent one" (al-Gha'ibah); many people visit her and ask her about things that were not close to her, such as a man coming to her while she is in her village and asking about his pregnant daughter in a country (what) and saying: Has she given birth or not? And this woman does not answer by saying: Allah knows best; rather, she must specify the answer with yes or no. Is it permissible to ask her such a question? Please inform us.
A2, 3, 4: It is forbidden to visit fortune-tellers and believe them. Therefore, it is not permissible to visit this woman who claims knowledge of the unseen; because she is a disbelieving fortune-teller. It is not permissible to visit her, ask her, or believe her or those like her who claim knowledge of the unseen, whether they practice medicine or not; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who visits a diviner ('Arraf) and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted.من أتى عرافًا فسأله عن شيء لم تقبل صلاته أربعين يومًا
Sahih Muslim 2230
narrated by Muslim ,
and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever goes to a diviner or a fortune-teller and believes what he says has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammadمن أتى عرافًا أو كاهنًا فصدقه بما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 15:740
(peace and blessings be upon him). And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
