Q: What is the ruling on one who extracts sorcery by means of numbers such as: 21, 31, 137, 121, 25, and looks at these numbers in a way he claims is the method of our master Yunus (peace be upon him), and that he used to employ it? Knowing that this man does not know how to remove sorcery, and he claims that he summons spirits and uses this method to determine a person's star, and if the person is not under sorcery, he says: "Your star is bad," after taking the name of the sorcerer's mother and the name of the sorcerer. Is this practice prescribed and transmitted from our master Yunus (peace be upon him), or is it not in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, and not transmitted from the Salaf or the Khalaf? And what is the ruling on one who goes to those who remove sorcery by this method and believes in the validity of this practice? With evidence?
A: If the reality of that person's condition is as described, then he is a fortune-teller, and there is no evidence that this method is the method of our master Yunus (peace and blessings be upon him), and that practice is not prescribed, and it is not permissible to go to him; rather, it is obligatory to rebuke him; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 2230 narrated by Muslim in his Sahih, and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan Ibn Majah 639Hasan (Darussalam) narrated by Imam Ahmad and the four [Imams] with a sound chain. And his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan Abi Dawud 3905Hasan (Al-Albani) , narrated by Abu Dawud from the hadith of Ibn Abbas with a sound chain. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

من أتى عرافًا فسأله عن شيء لم تقبل له صلاة أربعين ليلةor who goes to a fortuneteller and believes what he says, he has disbelieved in that which was revealed to Muhammad.
من أتى عرافًا فصدقه بما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمدIf anyone acquires any knowledge of astrology, he acquires a branch of magic of which he gets more as long as he continues to do so.
