Affirming Divine Decree and Destiny by the Texts of Sacred Law
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q5: Did he say that there is no evidence for divine decree and destiny in the Noble Qur'an?
A5: The belief of the people of the Sunnah and the community is that Allah the Exalted has encompassed all things with knowledge, and that He has written in the Preserved Tablet everything that is going to happen, and that everything He has known and written is bound to occur. Allah the Exalted said:
[Al-Baqarah 2:231], and He said: [Fussilat 41:54], and He said: [Al-Hadid 57:22-23]. Also part of their belief is that the will of Allah the Exalted is general for everything and effective in everything, and that He the Exalted is capable of everything, so He, Glorified is He, has complete and comprehensive power. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Insan 76:30], and He said: [At-Takwir 81:29], and He the Exalted said: [Al-An'am 6:125], and He said: [Az-Zumar 39:62-63], and He said: [Al-Qamar 54:49]
, and He said:[As-Saffat 37:96], , and other verses indicating the perfection of Allah's knowledge and His encompassing all things, and His writing in a Book with Him above His Throne everything that is going to happen, and His effective will and comprehensive power. The authentic and explicit hadiths have explained this clearly, without doubt or hesitation. It is established in the authentic collections that when Jibril asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about faith, he said: Sahih Muslim 8a until he said at the end of the hadith: Whoever doubts this or denies it is contrary to what the texts of the Islamic Shari'ah indicate, and is outside the path of the people of the Sunnah and the community , following instead the path of the people of deviation, religious innovation, and open sinfulness, who distort the words of Allah from their places and interpret them according to their desires, not according to their true interpretation, following the ambiguous parts of the texts without referring them to the clear verses and hadiths. So true is of them the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Ali 'Imran 3:7].
A5: The belief of the people of the Sunnah and the community is that Allah the Exalted has encompassed all things with knowledge, and that He has written in the Preserved Tablet everything that is going to happen, and that everything He has known and written is bound to occur. Allah the Exalted said:
Allah is Knowing of all things.
Unquestionably, they are in doubt about the meeting with their Lord. Unquestionably He is, of all things, encompassing.
(22) No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being - indeed that, for Allah, is easy - (23) In order that you not despair over what has eluded you and not exult [in pride] over what He has given you. And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful -
And you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.
And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds.
So whoever Allah wants to guide - He expands his breast to [contain] Islam; and whoever He wants to misguide - He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky. Thus does Allah place defilement upon those who do not believe.
(62) Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is, over all things, Disposer of affairs. (63) To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth.
Indeed, all things We created with predestination.
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ, and He said:
While Allah created you and that which you do?"
Indeed, Allah is over all things competent
That you affirm your faith in Allah, in His angels, in His Books, in His Apostles, in the Day of Judgment, and you affirm your faith in the Divine Decree about good and evil.
This is Jibril who has come to you to teach you your religion.
As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]
