What is the difference between a scholar and a student of knowledge?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh, some people find it difficult to distinguish between a scholar and a student of knowledge. When we tell them, "Go back to so-and-so the Shaykh," they ask, "Why don't we go to so-and-so the Shaykh, who is a student of knowledge?" We ask, "What is the difference in your view?"

The Shaykh : The difference is that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
So ask the people of the message if you do not know. فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
[An-Nahl 16:43]
, and the people of knowledge are the scholars. Therefore, students of knowledge should not rush and suffer a setback, just as a group of people have suffered setbacks in the present age. Students of knowledge should practice and train themselves in the methodology of the jurisprudence of the Book and the Sunnah by asking the people of knowledge, who are the scholars. They should not rush and should not be deceived by themselves. So the difference is:
So ask those who have knowledge فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ
, and they are the scholars. Oh Allah.
