Explaining the causes of safety from the trial of the Dajjal, and explaining the obligation of believing in the signs of the Hour as they came in the authentic Sunnah, and not interpreting them figuratively.

The Shaykh : Therefore, it is obligatory to believe that the Dajjal will certainly appear in the end times, and that everyone with weak faith will be tested by him.
It has come in the authentic hadiths that whoever habitually recites the first ten verses of Surat al-Kahf will be safe from the trial of the Dajjal. And because of its severity, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sought refuge with Allah from it in his prayer and commanded every person praying to do so. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say:Sahih Muslim 588a The Prophet’s (peace be upon him) seeking refuge and his command to seek this refuge is evidence of the severity of this trial. Therefore, if we imagine that the Great Dajjal is far from us now, that does not justify our failure to believe in his appearance as a matter of our faith and confirmation of the One who informed us, who is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And we must remember on this occasion that interpreting the Dajjal, or the Beast, or the sun rising from the west in ways that align with the concepts of all people— we must know that what leads people to such interpretation is their little faith or weak faith, because these are matters of the unseen, and much of it is beyond the ordinary. People have become accustomed to the ordinary, so it is difficult for them to step out of it, not only in action but also in thought and belief. The coming of a person like this Great Dajjal who says to the sky, “Rain,” and it rains, up to the last of the miracles we mentioned earlier, is something not customary for all people. And therefore, their material minds do not accommodate belief in these religious reports. So we must remember that not believing in them after their establishment, whether by the Book, like the sun rising from the west, or by the Sunnah, like this verse, or like the appearance of the Great Dajjal, about which authentic hadiths have been mass-transmitted— not believing in these truths is evidence of the loss of faith, either entirely or largely. And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said, in describing His believing, pious servants, that the first thing He described them with was belief in the unseen. He said: [Al-Baqarah 2:2-3] So the first condition of faith is belief in the unseen. The more the Muslim’s faith expands to encompass what came in the Book and the Sunnah and the authentic Sunnah, the more content he is and the closer he is to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). And the more his horizon of thought and heart narrows regarding believing in the verses of his Lord and the hadiths of his Prophet, the closer that is to disbelief rather than to faith.
Therefore, we must know that among the beliefs of the Muslims is belief in the appearance of the Dajjal in the end times.

When any one of you utters tashahhud (in prayer) he must seek refuge with Allah from four (trials) and should thus say:" O Allah! I seek refuge with Thee from the torment of the Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trial of life and death and from the evil of the trial of Masih al-Dajjal" (Antichrist).
إذا جلس أحدكم في التشهد الأخير فليستعذ بالله من أربع يقول اللهم إني أعوذ بك من عذاب جهنم ومن عذاب القبر ومن فتنة المحيا والممات ومن شر فتنة المسيح الدجال(2) This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah - (3) Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them,
ألم ذلك الكتاب لا ريب فيه هدى للمتقين الذين يؤمنون بالغيب ويقيمون الصلاةTherefore, we must know that among the beliefs of the Muslims is belief in the appearance of the Dajjal in the end times.
