A Reminder of Some of the Sunnahs of the Adhan
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : My purpose in this is that the adhan is an act of worship, so all the types of worship mentioned in the authentic hadiths must be observed in it. For example, we mentioned the mu'adhdhin standing out in the open, we mentioned his turning to the right and left, and we mention placing the two fingers in the ears. All of this must be observed. So we used to say: It is not valid for a person to call the adhan behind a loudspeaker. As for a person who is delivering a lecture, like I am doing now, he is not religiously obligated to observe specific etiquettes. This is not permissible. So how can we come to say: It is permissible to replace the mu'adhdhin with a recording of the mu'adhdhin's adhan? This is the nullification of one of the Islamic rites. If we do not permit the nullification of some of the rites, we do not permit the mu'adhdhin to enter a room, even under the minbar, to call the adhan and be heard by the people while the people do not see him. Do you see that this is the strength of Islam? That a person calls the adhan at the top of his voice in a well and does not climb up, even though he is able to climb up? This is not strength, and it is not an Islamic action at all. To Allah we complain. In any case, the matter is as He, the Exalted, said: [Ash-Shuraa 42:30].
We ask Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to forgive us all, to inspire us to act in accordance with the Book and the Sunnah, to keep us alive as Muslims, to let us die as believers, and to gather us with the truthful and sincere ones, upon whom there is no fear and who will not grieve. And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much.
وَمَا أَصَابَكُمْ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَنْ كَثِيرٍWe ask Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to forgive us all, to inspire us to act in accordance with the Book and the Sunnah, to keep us alive as Muslims, to let us die as believers, and to gather us with the truthful and sincere ones, upon whom there is no fear and who will not grieve. And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
