Explanation of the Hadith of 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (may Allah be pleased with him)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the eighth hadith: it is authentic, and it is his saying:
And 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) left this world without satisfying his hunger even with barley bread. خرج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من الدنيا ولم يشبع هو ولا أهله من خبز الشعير
Sahih al-Bukhari 5414
.
The phrase
from this world من الدنيا
is missing from my copy, so let it be known that I have supplied it from al-Bazzar. The text in my copy of al-Targhib is:
The Messenger of Allah departed without being satiated خرج رسول الله ولم يشبع
The phrase is incomplete, and its correct form is:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) left this world خرج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من الدنيا
Sahih al-Bukhari 5414
So the phrase "from this world" is placed in square brackets.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from this world without he or his family ever being satiated with barley bread. خرج رسول الله صلى الله عليه آله وسلم ولم يشبع هو ولا أهله من خبز الشعير
