What is your opinion regarding what some men do at men's gatherings and celebrations, namely singing without musical instruments and with musical instruments?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says, honorableThe Shaykh : What is your opinion regarding what some men do at men's gatherings and celebrations, namely singing without musical instruments and with musical instruments? May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : Singing with musical instruments is forbidden, except for what has been excluded. What has been excluded is the hand drum. The hand drum is: the drum that is not sealed on all sides. In other words, it has one side on which it is struck, and the other side is open. This is called the hand drum, and it is a musical instrument, but a dispensation was granted for it on days of weddings, as the Sunnah came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). As for the drum sealed on both sides, or music, or the rebab, or what is similar to that, these are forbidden and it is not permissible to use them. In fact, using them is contrary to thanking Allah for the blessing of marriage. It is not befitting for us to replace the blessing of Allah with disbelief. Yes. And upon you be peace. Yes.
