The story of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) regarding her performing 'Umrah from al-Tan'im.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... The Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), when she performed Hajj with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), she performed it as a Qarinah. When she stopped at a place near Mecca called "Sarif," the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her and found her crying. He said to her:
What is wrong with you? Have you menstruated?! !
. She said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said:
There is no harm in you; this is a matter that Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam; so do what the pilgrim does, except do not perform tawaf and do not pray.
. She said: I became pure at 'Arafah, and she performed all the rituals and became pure at 'Arafah. Then, when she threw the pebbles, she descended to Mecca on the tenth day, the day of the festival, and she performed tawaf and sa'y. When the time for departure came, the Messenger (peace be upon him) came to her and found her—again—crying. He said:
What is wrong with you?
. She said: What is wrong with me?! The people are returning with Hajj and 'Umrah, and I am returning with Hajj without 'Umrah. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her brother, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr al-Siddiq:
Have her ride behind you, and take her out to al-Tan'im, and let her declare her intention for 'Umrah from there.
. She did so, and he said to her (peace and blessings be upon him):
This is in place of that.
; meaning, in place of the 'Umrah that she was unable to perform before the Hajj. And I made a mistake earlier when I said: she was a Qarinah. Rather, she was a Mu'tamirah; meaning, the 'Umrah before the Hajj. When she menstruated at "Sarif," she was unable to complete the 'Umrah. So he said to her (peace and blessings be upon him), as in the rest of the story:
Leave your 'Umrah and perform Hajj, and do what the pilgrim does.
and so on. So her 'Umrah became a standalone Hajj; therefore, when he came to her after she had completed all the rituals of Hajj and found her crying, she said: The people are returning, the people are returning with Hajj and 'Umrah, and I am returning with Hajj without 'Umrah!! So he ordered her to perform 'Umrah from al-Tan'im.
The point here is: The Messenger (peace be upon him) said to her:
This is in place of that 'Umrah of yours, and your reward is only according to your effort.
. This is the point; she came with an 'Umrah separate from the 'Umrah of Hajj, so there was extra work here because of her going out of the Haram to al-Tan'im. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her:
Your reward is only according to your effort.
; meaning: your effort. From here, the jurists took: "The reward is according to the degree of hardship."
