The Shaykh : Is it permissible to throw the pebbles before dawn, based on the following hadith: 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Umm Salama on the night of the Day of Sacrifice, and she threw the pebbles before dawn, then she proceeded and departed." Abu Dawud narrated it, and its chain is according to the conditions of Muslim. The answer: The hadith is authentic, and its chain is according to the conditions of Muslim, but among its narrators is one whose memory was criticized; therefore, Ibn al-Qayyim said in *Zad al-Ma'ad* regarding this hadith: It is a denounced narration. Furthermore, even assuming its authenticity, it is not explicit that the Messenger (peace be upon him) ordered her to throw the pebbles before dawn, but rather he ordered her to do what he ordered all the women, which is to depart from Muzdalifah before dawn. However, she understood that departing before dawn necessitates throwing the pebbles before dawn as well, and the previous hadith of Ibn 'Abbas was hidden from her:
Do not stone the Jamrah until the sun has risen. لا ترموا الجمرة حتى تطلع الشمس
