The Obligation of Knowing the Guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Hadith: “The Best of Guidance is the Guidance of Muhammad”
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We know the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) which he used to preach in all his sermons and with which he began them, phrases that he (peace and blessings be upon him) made a constitution for this Ummah in all their lives related to the worship of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), namely his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih Muslim 867a And if that is the case, it is obligatory for the Muslim to know his guidance (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in all aspects of his life, so that it becomes clear to him what he must adhere to from what is related to religion, or what he is not required to do because it is not a matter of religion. This is because the religion has been completed and Allah has perfected His favor upon His servants with it, as is known from the saying of the Lord of the Worlds: [Al-Ma'idah 5:3] As for this world, from the perfection of this religion and the completeness of its rectitude is that He gave Muslims full permission in what is not of the religion to do in their worldly affairs what they wish, on the condition that they do not contradict the religion, as came in the hadith of pollinating the date palms, which Imam Muslim narrated in his *Sahih*: .
The point is: To the extent that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) gave Muslims explicit, unlimited permission in worldly matters, because he did not come to complete them and teach people, but rather he said: To the extent that this means he explicitly permitted them and allowed them to expand in worldly matters with the condition I mentioned to you earlier, which is not to contradict a scriptural text. On the contrary, he narrowed the circle of religion for them, saying to them in many hadiths: Sunan Abi Dawud 4607Sahih (Al-Albani) And in this came the hadith of al-'Arba' ibn Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: , and this is a very broad topic, and we have spoken about it repeatedly in some of the lectures we delivered on this journey, in particular. I do not want to add to these words in order to follow up on the topic mentioned earlier, which is.
the best of the guidance is the guidance given by Muhammad
خير الهدى هدى محمدThis day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion
اليوم أكملت لك م دينكم وأتممت عليكم نعمتي، ورضيت لكم الإسلام ديناThat the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a group of people one day who were pollinating the date palms—and I think you know, of course, more than we do what is meant by pollinating the date palms, do you not? Pollinating the date palms is their fertilization, and it is clear now? Pollination is fertilization—so he passed by a group of the Ansar who were pollinating the date palms, so he asked them about it, and they said: “This is something that brings the fruit sweet and edible.” He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If you had left it as it is, meaning if you had not fertilized it or pollinated it, and you had left the date palms as they are, when the time for eating or harvesting came, you would have been surprised to find that the dates came out dry. And ‘dry’ here is an expression meaning that they have no flesh or fat, i.e., skin over a pit. So they came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned that to him, and he said to them, and here is the point: ‘It is only an opinion I have formed. So from the matters of your religion that I have commanded you, do as much of it as you are able, and as for the matters of your world, you are more knowledgeable about the affairs of your world.’”
The point is: To the extent that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) gave Muslims explicit, unlimited permission in worldly matters, because he did not come to complete them and teach people, but rather he said:
