Standing in night prayer in Ramadan.
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And with this, the discussion regarding fasting comes to an end. As for standing in night prayer, I am glad to inform you of what is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he stood in prayer with his companions and finished the prayer before the dawn broke. They said: . May Allah reward you. It is recorded for you as standing in prayer for the whole night, while you are on your bed and with your family. But stand with the imam until he finishes. From when do I stand with him? From the 'Isha' prayer or from the standing prayer? Stand with him until he finishes.
So if someone were to ask: What do you say about people who go to other mosques, not the mosques of their own neighborhoods?
The answer is: There is no blame on them for this. All mosques are the houses of Allah, unless their going causes the mosque in their neighborhood to be left empty, in which case it is not permissible. But if there will remain someone to establish the prayer in that mosque, there is no blame on a person going to another mosque where he feels comfortable with the recitation, voice, and performance, because the matter, praise be to Allah, is broad. The matter is broad. And many people, when they pray with someone they feel comfortable with, or whose voice is pleasant, or whose performance is good, become more devout. And as long as Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has made it easy and has not forbidden us to go beyond the mosques in our neighborhoods to others, the matter, praise be to Allah, is broad. Unless what? Unless it necessitates leaving the mosque empty, in which case it is not permissible. Everyone prays in their own neighborhood. And if one stands with the imam until he finishes, Allah records for him standing in prayer for the whole night. And this is from the mercy of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And I advise my brother imams to fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic) regarding those behind them, by performing the prayer with tranquility, in the recitation, the bowing, the prostration, the standing after bowing, the sitting between the two prostrations, and the tashahhud as well. Many imams rush in the bowing, prostration, standing, and sitting. And they rush in the tashahhud. I mean, a person performs the tashahhud normally, and when he reaches: "And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger," the imam says the taslim. This is a mistake, an error. Let the worshippers supplicate to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) after the tashahhud, because when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) mentioned the tashahhud, he said:Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:238. At the very least, let them send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with the complete prayer. Let them seek refuge in Allah from four things: Sunan Ibn Majah 909Sahih (Darussalam). And praise be to Allah.
If we were to ask a questioner: What is the time that a person profits in his life?
We would say: Obedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), obedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). I mean, our share of our lifetimes in this world is obedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). As for the rest, it is either a burden on us, or it is neither for us nor against us. As for what we profit from our deeds, it is obedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). O Allah, help us to remember You, thank You, and worship You well. Yes.
Now, the questions. And I hope you pay attention to the question, because perhaps the question that is asked is the one in your hearts, so you will be spared from asking a new one. Yes.
The questioner : May Allah reward the honorable Shaykh with the best reward, and these are the questions.
O Messenger of Allah: If you would grant us the rest of our night — meaning: if you would stand with us until the end of the night. He said: Indeed, whoever stands with the imam until he finishes, it is recorded for him as standing in prayer for the whole night.
يا رسول الله: لو نفلتنا بقية ليلتنا - يعني: لو قمت بنا إلى آخر الليل-. فقال : إنه من قام مع الإمام حتى ينصرف كتب له قيام ليلةSo if someone were to ask: What do you say about people who go to other mosques, not the mosques of their own neighborhoods?
