A word about standing in prayer in Ramadan and what is prescribed in it.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This is what concerns fasting. As for what concerns standing in prayer, standing in prayer in Ramadan is recommended and prescribed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding it:
Whoever establishes prayers during the nights of Ramadan faithfully out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not for showing off), all his past sins will be forgiven.
Sahih al-Bukhari 37
It should be done in congregation in the mosques, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed with his Companions for three nights or four nights, then he delayed and said:
I feared that it would become obligatory (fard) for you
Muwatta Malik 6:1
It is performed with eleven rak'ahs or thirteen rak'ahs. This is the best, because this is what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do. Indeed,
Aisha, the Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), was asked how the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in Ramadan? She said: He did not exceed eleven rak'ahs in Ramadan or otherwise. He would pray four.

- Take hold of your neighbor's ear, hold your neighbor's ear, hold his ear, tie it up, this is to finalize it, yes -
She said (may Allah be pleased with her):
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not pray more than eleven rak'ahs during Ramadhan and other than Ramadhan. He would pray four rak'ahs. Do not ask about their elegance and length. He then would pray for rak'ahs. Do not ask about their alegance and length. Then he would pray three rak'ahs.
Sunan Abi Dawud 1341Sahih (Al-Albani)
So the total is eleven rak'ahs. But does her statement that he prays four mean that he combines them in one salam? The answer is: No, because it is established in her own hadith that he used to pray two rak'ahs, then two rak'ahs, then two rak'ahs, then two rak'ahs, then two rak'ahs, then two rak'ahs, then he would complete with one. Based on this, her statement that he prays four means that he combines them and then rests. Therefore, she used "then" which indicates a delay, contrary to what some people imagine, that he prays four all together, and four all together, and three all together. This is an error in understanding. Its cause is that some people look at the texts with a one-eyed view, from one side without the other. They do not combine the texts or combine the ends of the texts to reconcile this with that. So they thought that it is four connected together, and this is a mistake. The important thing about this standing in prayer is that a person should strive for it and pray with the imam until the imam finishes, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Indeed, whoever stands (praying) with the Imam until he finished, then it is recorded for him that he prayed the whole night.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 806Sahih (Darussalam)
This is a favor from Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Remain with the imam until he finishes, and it will be written for you as a complete night of standing, even in the winter nights, and even if you are on your bed. Because the Companions said, "If you would let us off the rest of our night," meaning if you would stay with us for the rest of the night. He said:
Indeed, whoever stands (praying) with the Imam until he finished, then it is recorded for him that he prayed the whole night.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 806Sahih (Darussalam)
This indicates that the best for a person is to lighten the burden on himself - come closer a little - whoever stands in prayer with the imam until he finishes, it is written for him as a complete night of standing. So you remain with the imam until he finishes, and it is written for you as a complete night of standing. What need is there for you to burden yourself with standing after this?
