Standing in Ramadan.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And now we move from fasting to standing in prayer, standing in Ramadan is recommended, and a person should not neglect it, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever establishes prayers during the nights of Ramadan faithfully out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not for showing off), all his past sins will be forgiven. من قام رمضان إيماناً واحتساباً غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه
Sahih al-Bukhari 37
And tarawih now, what is it considered? It is undoubtedly considered part of standing in Ramadan, so what is required is that we do not neglect it, and that we remain with the imam from the 'Isha' prayer until he finishes, because when they said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
O Messenger of Allah, stand with us for the rest of our night, we would like to remain until the dawn. He said: Whoever stands with the imam until he departs, it is recorded for him as standing the entire night. يا رسول الله. قم بنا بقية ليلتنا، نود أن نبقى إلى الفجر قال : من قام مع الإمام حتى ينصرف كتب له قيام ليلة
O Allah, to You is praise, you stand with the imam for an hour or an hour and a half, and it is recorded for you as standing the entire night, so a person should not neglect these tarawih. As for the imams, it is obligatory for them to fear Allah regarding those behind them, and to perform the prayer in a manner that allows people to be at ease, and to be able to make supplication in the bowing and prostration, and supplication in prostration is more emphasized than supplication in bowing, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Verily, I have been forbidden to recite the Qur'an while bowing or prostrating. As for bowing, magnify the Lord therein, and as for prostration, strive in supplication, for it is likely that it will be answered for you. ألا وإني نهيت أن أقرأ القرآن راكعاً أو ساجداً، أما الركوع فعظموا فيه الرب، وأما السجود فاجتهدوا في الدعاء فقمن أي : حري، أن يستجاب لكم
So let him give the followers the opportunity for supplication, glorification, and praising Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and let his concern not be to leave early, because some imams are observed doing this, hurrying through the tarawih, why? So that he is the first to leave, and let him not be deceived by the fact that there are many people behind him, because people like haste, let him not be deceived by this, let his greatest concern be to perform it in the required manner, this is what is important. And regarding tarawih, the Salaf differed on it, some said: twenty-three, and some said: eleven, and some said: thirteen, and some said: nineteen, they differed on it with many opinions, so whoever follows one of the ways reported from the Salaf, he is never to be blamed, even if he follows twenty-three, he is not to be blamed. And therefore we see that it is a mistake what some of the independent jurists do when they pray behind an imam who completes twenty-three, and they pray ten rak'ahs with him and then leave and depart, these are poor people, they deprived themselves of standing with the imam until he departs, so the night was lost for them, then they opposed the congregation, and the hand of Allah is with the congregation, then some of them, especially in the Sacred Mosque, sit and drink coffee while people are praying, or talk while people are praying, and this is a mistake that many young students of knowledge make. And also: it has reached us that some imams perform witr with the people with nine, and if a person performs witr with nine, he does not say the closing salam until the end of it, the Sunnah when witr is performed with nine is not to say the salam until the end, you sit in the eighth, you recite the tashahhud, you stand up and you come with the ninth, we heard that some imams do that, and this is a mistake. Did it come to them that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) prays nine rak'ahs with the people? If it came from the Messenger, by Allah, it is on the eyes and head (a sign of respect), and if it did not come from the Messenger, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
So whoever of you leads the people in prayer he must be brief, for behind him are the weak, the aged, and the people who have (argent) business to attend. أيكم أم الناس فليوجز، فإن من ورائه الضعيف والمريض وذا الحاجة
Sahih Muslim 466a
And is this brevity that he remains praying with the people for an hour or an hour and a half and they do not leave? Some of them may be confined by urine, stool, or gas, or for work, then those who enter the mosque find him praying tarawih, praying this witr, what do they intend? They want to intend tahajjud, and it disturbs their intention.
