Explanation of the hadith of Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him): (No group has ever exchanged curses without the curse becoming due upon them).

The Shaykh : Therefore, the author (may Allah have mercy on him) followed the two preceding hadiths with the following athar, or the mawquf hadith, which he also narrated with his authentic chain: From Hudhayfah, who said: "No group has ever exchanged curses without the curse becoming due upon them." "Exchanged curses" means that they cursed one another without right, and thereby they became deserving of the curse of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). This confirms that what the sincere believers and the martyrs are free from is cursing without right.
