The word "al-mushsha'oon" (the goers about) is a form of exaggeration, meaning that their constant and perpetual habit is to engage in conveying corrupting speech, as we mentioned in the previous lesson, to the other person in order to create discord and corruption between them. These are the worst of creation. The result of this is that they become as stated in that hadith:. You will find two brothers who are close and friendly, but because of the efforts of the talebearer and the sower of discord between them, he continues to carry words from this one to that one and from that one to this one until a conflict breaks out between them and the natural, friendly relationship between them is ruined. And among the morals of these worst of creation, the worst of people, are "al-baaghun" (those who seek), meaningThe student : those who seek and intentionally target "al-bira'" (the innocent), which is the plural of "bira'" (innocent) on the pattern of "ulama'" (scholars). What do they seek for them? "Al-'an" (harm): which is destruction or the causes that lead to this destruction. So the best of people are those who, when they are seen, cause Allah to be remembered, and the worst of people are those who go about spreading talebearing, sow discord between loved ones, and seek destruction and harm for the innocent.
Shall I not inform you of the worst of you?
