The questioner : What is the method for the 'Umrah of a menstruating woman? Is it required that she enter the state of ihram from al-Tan'im? And which of the early scholars held this view?

The Shaykh : The 'Umrah of a menstruating woman is related to the woman who intended to perform tamattu' by combining 'Umrah with Hajj, but when she approached Makkah, menstruation began, preventing her from circumambulating the Ka'bah just as it prevents her from praying. Consequently, her tamattu' of 'Umrah and Hajj becomes an ifrad Hajj. When this woman finishes the rituals of Hajj, specifically the tawaf al-ifadah and the tawaf al-wada', she is then commanded to go out to al-Tan'im to make up for the 'Umrah she missed, which she had intended to perform before Hajj but was unable to complete. To compensate for the 'Umrah she missed before Hajj, she is ordered to go to al-Tan'im, enter the state of ihram from there, enter Makkah, perform tawaf and sa'y, and thus complete the 'Umrah. This is established in the hadith of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her). The ruling here is as Imam al-Shafi'i said: "The hadith is a proof in itself", and there is no need for additional support to know who held this view.
Personally, I do not recall at this moment who held this view regarding this issue; the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is sufficient for us.
