The questioner : He says:The questioner : The honorable Shaykh, I complain of the hardness of my heart and the heaviness of obedience upon me. Is there a solution, despite the fact that I am indulging myself in sin? What is your advice to me and to my sisters, the young women who have occupied themselves with fashion and similar matters that distract women from their religion?
The Shaykh : I say: The hardness of the heart has a remedy, which is to increase the recitation of the Qur'an. The evidence for this is the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic:[Al-Hashr 59:21]. The mountain, as we know, is dumb stones; if the Qur'an were to descend upon it, it would bow in humility and split apart. Likewise, the heart, if the Qur'an comes to it and a person reads it with reflection and contemplation, it must affect his heart. And listen to the saying of Allah the Exalted in Surat : [Qaf 50:37]. So, O sister, you must recite the Book of Allah with reflection and humility. And Allah will replace this hardness with softness and a return to Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He. As for the women who have occupied themselves with fashions, they have lost this world and the Hereafter, unless Allah wills. And you are amazed at these women who occupy themselves with fashions; they tire themselves, they tire their husbands, they tire their fathers, and they tire their guardians. Then, where does this money go? It goes to the companies that import these fashions, and these companies may be disbelieving companies, so our enemies benefit from our money.
My advice to women and their guardians is that they should not follow these fashions, which contain no good except the wasting of time and the destruction of money, along with their effect on the heart in diverting it from the obedience of Allah. Yes.

If We had sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and coming apart from fear of Allah
لَوْ أَنْزَلْنَا هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى جَبَلٍ لَرَأَيْتَهُ خَاشِعاً مُتَصَدِّعاً مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِQ
قIndeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind].
