How to Get Rid of the Hardness of the Heart

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From Jalaajil Sadiir (E. L) he says: O Shaykh, how does a person get rid of the hardness of the heart? And what are the causes of that?
May Allah reward you.

Answer:
One gets rid of the hardness by supplicating to Allah and imploring Him to soften his heart, to protect him from Shaytan, and to strive in the obedience of Allah, to increase in His remembrance, and to keep the company of the righteous. All of this softens the heart: increasing in the remembrance of Allah, His glorification, and His exaltation, reading the Qur'an, and supplicating in your prostration, at the end of the prayer, and at the end of the night. You ask Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) to soften your heart, to remove its hardness, and to rectify your speech and your deeds for you. You strive to increase in the remembrance of Allah, reading the Qur'an, and keeping the company of the righteous. All of this is among the causes of the softening of the heart and the departure of the hardness. Yes.
