The organization of Hajj has been issued through the system of groups, and this is financially burdensome for one who has four daughters

The questioner : The first question says: The organization of Hajj has been issued through the system of groups, and this is financially burdensome for one who has four daughters, as it costs approximately fifteen thousand riyals at the very least; so is Hajj dropped for them?

The Shaykh : Yes, it is well known that the government, may Allah guide them, has established two regulations: The first regulation is that no one performs Hajj until after five years, and this organization is appropriate, and that is in order to ease the burden on the pilgrim who performed Hajj voluntarily and on the others. The government, may Allah guide them, has not forbidden Hajj. They did not say, "Do not perform Hajj except the obligatory one." But they organized it. And there is a difference between forbidding and organizing. And we say to our brothers: Do not be sad about this system, because the means of forgiveness, praise be to Allah, are not limited to Hajj. If a person perfects his ablution and prays two rak'ahs in which he does not engage in self-talk, Allah forgives him what has passed of his sins. And if he says, "Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi" (Glory be to Allah and His praise) one hundred times, his sins are removed even if they were like the foam of the sea. And if he says, "Subhan Allah" (Glory be to Allah), "Alhamdulillah" (Praise be to Allah), and "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest) thirty-three times each, and completes the hundred with "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah) alone, having no partner, to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs the praise, and He is over all things competent, his sins are forgiven even if they were like the foam of the sea. And if he fasts Ramadan in faith and seeking reward, his past sins are forgiven. And likewise if he stands in prayer or stands the Night of Decree. So the means of forgiveness, praise be to Allah, are many. Do not be sad, my brother. Help the government with the system that contains good. And if you must, look at your brother for whom it is not obligatory and help him with his obligation. Give him the maintenance, and you will have the reward of the obligatory Hajj.
As for the second system, which is: that people must perform Hajj with the groups. What I see is that people understood it other than what was intended; people understood it other than what was intended. And that is because the tents in Mina now have been taken by people, taken by the groups. There is no place left for the tent that a family brings and sets up there. So they saw, for the preservation of order and the prevention of chaos, that a person should be with a group specifically during the days of Hajj, because if he arrives at Mina and finds that the tents have been distributed, where would he go? So I think this system intends that a person should be with a group specifically during the days of Hajj. As for the means of transport to Makkah, I do not think it is necessary that he be with the group; perhaps he goes in his car. Yes.

The questioner : Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace.

The questioner : Shaykh Muhammad.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : May Allah keep you in goodness.

The Shaykh : Welcome, may Allah keep you in goodness.

The questioner : The brothers in al-Bakariyyah send you their greetings.

The Shaykh : Peace be upon you and upon them.

The questioner : Regarding the agreement to broadcast this meeting.

The Shaykh : May Allah guide us and you to good.

The questioner : May Allah benefit Islam and the Muslims through you.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good.

The questioner : ... Okay, Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes.
