We often feel that we make du'a but it is not answered; what is the reason for that?

The Shaykh : We constantly make du'a in our prayers, in our qunut, after our prayers, and so on. Then we feel, as if we were touching it with our hands, that these du'as are not being answered by Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for us. What is the reason for that?
The reasons are many, and very many. Among them is that we have been afflicted with consuming forbidden wealth. It was reported in *Sahih Muslim* from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: إن الله طيبٌ ولا يقبل إلا طيبًا، وإن الله أمر المؤمنين بما أمر به المرسلين فقال: يا أيها الرسل كلوا من الطيبات واعملوا صالحًا ثم ذكر النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم الرجلَ يُطيلُ السفر أشعثَ أغبر، ومأكله حرام، ومشربه حرام، وغُذِّي بالحرام يرفع يديه يقول: يا رب يا رب، فأنى يُستجاب له Indeed, Allah is Good and accepts only that which is good. And Allah commanded the believers with what He commanded the messengers, saying: "O messengers, eat from the good things and do righteous deeds." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the man who lengthens his journey, disheveled and covered in dust, whose food is haram, whose drink is haram, and who is nourished with haram. He raises his hands and says: "O Lord, O Lord." How will he be answered?
So do not ask yourselves why our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) does not answer all these du'as over all these long years, because most of us live without asking whether our wealth came from what is halal or from what is haram. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reminded the Muslims by saying:. The calamity of Muslims today is their distance from the taqwa of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), which entails doing what Allah has commanded and avoiding what Allah has forbidden. Among the first of these is riba, whether consuming it or feeding it to others. In the present age, one of our ailments is psychological illness: we have been stamped, as the disbelievers were stamped, with a greed for love of this world and material things. It has come in many hadiths from his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): . The people's turning today toward material things and earning money by whatever means it comes is among the calamities of Muslims; if they do not try to escape from it, they will not be saved from this humiliation that has settled upon them in all the lands of Islam, even if it varies in degree. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) has informed us of some of this on the tongue of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in some of the authentic hadiths, among which is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan Abi Dawud 3462Sahih (Al-Albani). He also said (peace and blessings be upon him) in another hadith, which is one of the signs of his prophethood (peace and blessings be upon him), like the hadith before it: . This is among the diseases of Muslims today that have surrounded their hearts and diverted them from performing their religious obligations, which are summarized in the word: "Fear Allah." Therefore, corruption has spread on earth, and people have made riba permissible by the slightest of tricks.
