What is your opinion regarding the attempt by some pretenders to knowledge to appoint themselves as guardians over what is called the Islamic awakening?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Some of the pretenders to knowledge among the scholars are trying to appoint themselves as guardians over the Islamic awakening, as I mentioned. What is your opinion on that?

The Shaykh : My opinion is the same as my previous one: there is no benefit in that except if they return to the correct methodology that we constantly discuss and call for. As we have said, one who lacks a thing cannot give it. So the awakening will continue to move slowly, very slowly, until Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, provides for it someone who will take its hands and guide it to the path that the entire Muslim community must follow in order to fulfill the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
if you support Allah, He will support you إن تنصروا الله ينصركم
[Muhammad 47:7]
. There is no doubt that the victory of the Muslims for Allah is for His religion and acting according to its rulings, and this is not possible except through two things that I have always explained and called all Muslims to implement, which I call purification and education. If there is no purified knowledge taken from the Book and the Sunnah, it will not benefit except a little. Then, if this knowledge does benefit, it only benefits if it is accompanied by action; otherwise, the knowledge becomes a burden on its owner, as is well known from the evidence of the Shari'ah, such as the saying of the Exalted:
(2) O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do? (3) Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do. يا أيها الذين آمنوا لِمَ تقولون ما لا تفعلون كَبُر مقتاً عند الله أن تقولوا ما لا تفعلون
[As-Saf 61:2-3]
. So the standing up of some people who claim affiliation with knowledge but are not upon the correct knowledge, this does not benefit anything. We gave an example in the meeting held yesterday of that scholar who was chosen for a high position when he issued a fatwa that foreign maids are in the position of captive women, for whom it is permissible to see women in their clothing in their homes. Even though free disbelieving women are like men in relation to Muslim women; it is not permissible for them to see of the Muslim woman except her face and her hands only. And when the heads of households, the husbands and wives, are forced to have their women uncover before these foreign women, he issued that fatwa out of extreme ignorance. What is the benefit of such knowledge that was not established upon understanding the Book of Allah and the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?
