Discussion of the Islamic Awakening.

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The first question from the brothers:The questioner : He begins with the name of Allah and sends blessings upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then says: We hear some people saying that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is in every place, and we hear others saying that He is above His Throne in the heavens, or in the seventh heaven—and the more correct statement is that He is above the seventh heaven—so please inform us, may Allah reward you all with good?

The Shaykh : Excuse me, repeat the question for me. Leave out the part about "the more correct."

The questioner : He says: We hear some people saying that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is in every place, and we hear others also saying that He is above His Throne in the seventh heaven. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good?

The Shaykh : Yes, this question is actually an important one, and it relates to the reality of the Ummah in the present era. What brings joy to the heart is that there is what is called the Islamic Awakening. I believe that there is indeed an awakening, but it is in its early stages. As you can see, we have nearly reached eighty years since forty years ago, when we hardly ever heard preachers, orators, and guides saying "Allah said" or "The Messenger of Allah said," except very rarely. And if one of them mentioned a verse, he did not know how to interpret it because he did not know the principles upon which the noble verse should be interpreted. And if he narrated a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he would narrate it without verifying its authenticity, and so on. But now, I think you all bear witness with me that you often hear people saying, "This is an authentic hadith," or "Al-Bukhari narrated this," or "Muslim narrated this," or "This verse was interpreted by Ibn Jarir al-Tabari thus, and by Ibn Kathir al-Dimashqi thus," and so forth. These are undoubtedly signs of the awakening. But as I said earlier, we are still in the beginning of the awakening.
