Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “So whoever hopes to meet his Lord, let him do righteous deeds.”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work
[Al-Kahf 18:110]
The scholars of exegesis said regarding this verse:
Righteous deeds are those that are in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). If they contradict it, his deed is returned to him. This is what is explicitly stated in some authentic hadiths, such as the statement of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.
Sahih Muslim 1718a
.
He who innovates things in our affairs
Sahih Muslim 1718a
Meaning: In this religion of ours, whatever is not from it is returned to its doer, and his face is struck with it, because he will not follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who came with guidance and light, comprehensive and complete, as our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) said in His Book:
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
:
The grace from our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) has been completed by His perfecting of His religion, so He left no room for anyone to innovate in His religion what is not from it. For this reason, he (peace be upon him) said, as you heard:
'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.
Sahih Muslim 1718a
. An innovation may be something that incites some people to engage in it, so they get entangled and think it is a righteous deed, but in reality it is an evil deed, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not bring it.
