Continuation of the discussion regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: “So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone” and the discussion included therein regarding

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Let us return to completing the discussion regarding the second pillar that our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, indicated in the previous verse, where He said:
So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone." فمن كان يرجو لقاء ربه فليعمل عملًا صالحًا ولا يُشرك بعبادة ربه أحدًا
[Al-Kahf 18:110]
: We have already known how righteous work is, which is what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was upon, without any addition.
As for His saying, Mighty and Majestic:
and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone." فلا يشرك بعبادة ربه أحدًا
[Al-Kahf 18:110]
, it means in this verse that whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord should be sincere to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, in his righteous work, not showing off, and not hoping for anything behind his righteous work except the pleasure of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He. Many, and very many, hadiths have come on this occasion, containing enough to admonish and awaken the heart of the Muslim from his heedlessness in some of his righteous works, where his soul, which commands evil, may overcome him and turn his worship, which is upon the Sunnah, into a calamity for him. And why? Because he did not make it sincere to Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, but rather associated with Him others in it, meaning: he sought the face of other than Allah, Mighty and Majestic, in his work. Among those hadiths is what al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated in their Sahihs from the hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him):
That a man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): A man among us, O Messenger of Allah, fights with bravery; is he in the path of Allah? He said: No. He said: A man among us fights out of tribal pride; is he in the path of Allah? He said: No. A man fights thus and thus; is he in the path of Allah?
In every instance, no, no,
which of them is in God’s path?” He replied, “The one who fights that God’s word may have preeminence is in God’s path.”
Mishkat al-Masabih 3814
: And the meaning of that is that whoever fights for other than exalting the word of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, is not in the path of Allah, but rather he is in the path of Satan. Therefore, every Muslim should monitor his works, and especially his jihad, which may expose him to death, so he should make his jihad pure for the face of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in a hadith narrated by al-Hakim in *al-Mustadrak* from the hadith of Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
Give good tidings to this Ummah of elevation, nobility, glory, and establishment in the earth. And whoever among them does a work for the world, he has no share in the Hereafter. And whoever among them does a work from the works of the Hereafter for the world, he has no share in the Hereafter
