The student: All praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whoever Allah guides, no one can mislead, and whoever He misleads, no one can guide. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. May Allah send blessings and peace upon him, his family, his Companions, and whoever follows his guidance and adheres to his Sunnah until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.
The Shaykh : And upon you be peace and Allah's mercy and blessings.
The student: I ask the honorable brothers not to interrupt or contradict the oral questions. I hope they will be written down so that time is not wasted and so that the answer or the question is not limited to one of us. Since all the brothers are insisting on writing their questions, if someone interrupts, they will object by saying the questions are written, and we will be in a difficult position. We do not want to be the cause of disturbing any of our brothers.
The Shaykh : Indeed, all praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whoever Allah guides, no one can mislead, and whoever He misleads, no one can guide. As for what follows: The best of speech is the speech of Allah, the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the worst of matters are their innovations. Every innovation is a religious innovation, every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire.
Among the things that every Muslim should know is that salvation with Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) in the Hereafter, and happiness in this world, are based on two foundations:
One is beneficial knowledge, and the other is righteous action.
As for beneficial knowledge, it is not possible to reach it and recognize it except through one path and no other, namely: the path of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). That is the path to which our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) pointed, as in His saying in the Noble Qur'an:[Al-An'am 6:153]. In this verse, there is the Sirat (the straight path), the way, and the plural of the way, where He said: [Al-An'am 6:153]. The verse explicitly states that guidance is only for the one who walks on one path, not on multiple paths. No Muslim among the millions of Muslims in every time and place doubts, in terms of creed, that this is the way of Muhammad (may Allah send prayers and peace upon him), even if they have practically divided into various schools of jurisprudence and paths. If they want to be, as I mentioned earlier, happy in this world and saved in the Hereafter, they must practically follow this one path, which is the straight path.
It came in the authentic hadith narrated by Abu Abdullah al-Hakim in his *Mustadrak* from the hadith of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): أنَّ النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم خطَّ يومًا وهو بين أصحابه خطًّا مستقيماً على الأرض وقرأ تلك الآية : وأن هذا صراطي مستقيما فاتبعوه ولا تتبعوا السبل فتفرق بكم عن سبيله ، فخطَّ النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم على جانبي الصراط المستقيم خطوطًا قصيرةً That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) drew a straight line on the ground one day while he was among his Companions and recited that verse: "And that this is My straight path, so follow it and do not follow the ways that will cause you to stray from His path." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) drew short lines on both sides of the straight path.. He recited the previous verse while passing his noble hand over the straight line:[Al-An'am 6:153]. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
This hadith, with this beautiful depiction that embodies the meaning of the Noble verse, shows that there are paths branching off from this path. But whoever walks on them, the more he walks on them, the further he strays from the straight path. Therefore, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) urges his Ummah to follow his path (may Allah send prayers and peace upon him) straight, and forbids them from following those paths that branch off from it. These branching paths are not the ones that lead to the path of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). It has come in the text regarding some of those who followed them, as in his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2682Da'if (Darussalam). This is the path of the one who walks steadily on that straight path.
As for what follows: Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.
The Shaykh : And upon you be peace and Allah's mercy and blessings.

O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله حقَّ تُقاته ولا تموتُنَّ إلا وأنتم مسلمونO mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله وقولوا قولًا سديدًا يصلح لكم أعمالكم ويغفر لكم ذنوبكم ومن يطع الله ورسوله فقد فاز فوزًا عظيمًاAs for what follows: The best of speech is the speech of Allah, the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the worst of matters are their innovations.
