The Shaykh : And among the most terrifying and deterrent hadiths for one who does not be sincere to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in his work, even if it is of the highest rank and status with Allah, is that this work turns against him and becomes a calamity for him, because he did not be sincere in it to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). That is the hadith that Imam Muslim narrated in his Sahih from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Look at the best of people in terms of deeds; they are these three: a scholar, a mujahid (one who strives in the path of Allah), and a wealthy person. Yet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the truthful and trustworthy, informs us that the first ones for whom the Fire will be kindled and Hell will be stoked on the Day of Resurrection are these three types: the scholar, the mujahid, and the wealthy person. He said (peace and blessings be upon him) in the completion of the hadith: Meaning: What he sought of love for fame and showing off has been attained by him through his knowledge, so he has no share in the Hereafter, as mentioned earlier in the hadith of Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him).
, Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: :
And from this, we derive something very important, which is what our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) indicated in the previous verse:[Al-Kahf 18:110] Meaning: in accordance with the Sunnah.
[Al-Kahf 18:110] Meaning: so that he may be sincere in every act of worship he performs for Allah (Mighty and Majestic), not seeking from people any reward or gratitude.
So we ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to make us know and teach us the work that our Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was upon, and to inspire us with sincerity in it for Him alone, having no partner.
The first ones for whom the Fire will be kindled on the Day of Resurrection are three: a scholar, a mujahid, and a wealthy person.
The scholar will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him: What did you do with what you knew? He will say: O my Lord, I spread it in Your path. It will be said to him: You lied. You only learned so that people would say, "So-and-so is a scholar," and it has been said. Take him to the Fire.
Then the mujahid will be brought and it will be said to him: What did you do with the strength We bestowed upon you? He will say: O my Lord, I fought in Your path. It will be said to him: You lied. You only fought so that it would be said, "So-and-so is a hero, so-and-so is brave," and it has been said. Take him to the Fire, and he will be thrown into Hell. Then the wealthy man will be brought, who spent his wealth in the path of Allah as it appears to people, so Allah will hold him accountable and ask him, and He knows best what is in his heart: What did you do with the wealth I bestowed upon you? He will say: O my Lord, I spent it in Your path. It will be said to him: You lied. You only spent it so that people would say, "So-and-so is generous," and it has been said. Take him to the Fire.
So the first ones for whom the Fire will be kindled on the Day of Resurrection are these three: the scholar, the mujahid, and the wealthy person.
And from this, we derive something very important, which is what our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) indicated in the previous verse:
So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work
فمن كان يرجو لقاء ربه فليعمل عملاً صالحاًand not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone."
So we ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to make us know and teach us the work that our Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was upon, and to inspire us with sincerity in it for Him alone, having no partner.
