Is it permissible to wear white gold?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner:The questioner : He says: Is it permissible to wear white gold?

The Shaykh : I think we have spoken about this, I do not know here or in another place, that white gold is of two types:
The first type is platinum.
The other type is red gold that has been shaped and some chemical substances have been added to it or poured over it, so its color changed to resemble the color of platinum. The rulings of gold apply to this, whereas the rulings of gold do not apply to platinum; because no text from the Shari'ah has come that forbids precious metals, including white platinum by nature and constitution. Therefore, this platinum falls under the rule: "The original ruling for things is permissibility." As for the gold that has been colored with the color of platinum, that does not remove it from its original nature as a metal, nor from its ruling in the Shari'ah, which is prohibition, according to the known details in books of hadith and jurisprudence.
